Ali was announced for a Blade film that went through several writers and directors and was repeatedly delayed. Wikipedia records that he was set to return in it and that his contract expired in July 2026.
Variants of Blade appear elsewhere: in Deadpool & Wolverine, where Wesley Snipes reprises the role he played in New Line Cinema’s trilogy between 1998 and 2004, and in the animated What If…? and Marvel Zombies. Ali had already appeared in this continuity once before, as Cornell Stokes in Luke Cage.
