An agent who broke Fury's orders to save hundreds of lives, and spent the years afterwards being asked whose side that put her on.
Barbara Morse is an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Lance Hunter’s ex-wife. She was a founding member of the so-called real S.H.I.E.L.D. after disobeying Fury’s orders in order to save hundreds of S.H.I.E.L.D. lives, and she infiltrates Coulson’s group for them. Coulson later sends her undercover inside Hydra, where she gives up the location of Agent 33 rather than risk many other agents.
That decision is the whole character. She is written as somebody who does the arithmetic, gets the right answer, and is never forgiven for having done the arithmetic at all.

The series never gives her the codename on screen with any weight. A spin-off built around her and Hunter was developed and not ordered, which is why her story stops where it does.
