A student at the school whose parents thought it was an ordinary school, and who could freeze whatever he touched.
Bobby Drake is one of the students at Xavier’s school, a mutant who can make ice, and the boy Rogue likes, which is a problem for both of them because Rogue cannot touch anyone. Shawn Ashmore plays him across four films, from a face in the corridor to a member of the X-Men.
X2 gives him his best scene. When the school is raided he gets the remaining students out and takes them to his parents’ house, where it turns out that his parents, William and Madeline, had no idea what kind of school it was, and his younger brother Ronny calls the authorities on the lot of them. It is the series’ clearest statement of what it has been using mutants to talk about, and it is done in a family home.
By The Last Stand his closeness to Kitty Pryde, and Rogue’s inability to touch him, are what push Rogue towards the mutant cure. He joins the X-Men for the battle at Alcatraz, beats Pyro, and turns his whole body to ice for the first time doing it.
Minor spoiler
In Days of Future Past he is one of the survivors of the Sentinels’ war on mutants, and he is killed once before Bishop resets the day. In the longer Rogue Cut of the film he dies a second time, saving Rogue. In the revised timeline the film ends on, he is back at the school and dating her.

Ashmore also voiced him in X-Men: The Official Game, which is not a title in this catalogue.
