Danny Rand is a billionaire Buddhist monk, which is a sentence that tells you most of the problem. He survived the plane crash that killed his parents, was raised in K’un-Lun, and came back to New York at twenty-five with no shoes, no paperwork and a mystical title nobody in the building has heard of.
Finn Jones described him as somebody struggling to find his identity, and said he recognised the loneliness of being an orphan.
