The man who trained his whole life for a title, and watched it go to the outsider who turned up from New York.
Davos is a skilled martial artist, the son of Lei Kung, and Danny Rand’s former best friend in K’un-Lun. He grew envious when Rand became the Iron Fist. That one sentence is the whole engine of the character, and the second season is built on it.
He is the most sympathetic villain in this corner of the catalogue, because his grievance is legitimate. He did the work. He stayed. Rand left, abandoned the post he was given, and still holds the title. The series never quite argues Davos is wrong about that. It only argues about what he decides to do next.
Show detailsWhere the second season goes
The second season of Iron Fist is generally held to be a large improvement on the first, and Davos is the main reason cited. It was also the last one: Netflix cancelled the series in October 2018, a month after the season was released.
