A champion archer who has been trying to be Hawkeye since she was nine, when an arrow saved her life during the Battle of New York.
Kate Bishop watched the Battle of New York from the window of a building that was coming apart around her, saw a man on a roof with a bow, and decided that day what she was going to be. Everything about the character since has been her being extremely good at it and nobody wanting her to do it.
She is written as the opposite of her mentor in every respect that matters. He is quiet, tired, and would like to be finished. She is loud, twenty-two and cannot believe her luck, and the series is largely about him deciding whether to let her stay.
