A mercenary who shares his body with at least two other people, one of whom does not know the others exist, and who works for an Egyptian god.
Moon Knight is the only entry in this catalogue that begins from inside the condition rather than outside it. Marc Spector is an American mercenary with dissociative identity disorder, developed from childhood abuse after his younger brother drowned and his mother blamed him. Steven Grant, who works in a London gift shop and thinks he simply sleeps badly, is one of his alters. Jake Lockley is another, and the series takes its time telling anyone.
Oscar Isaac plays all of them, and the series is at its best when it stays inside the confusion instead of explaining it. Khonshu, the god Marc serves, is a demanding and unreliable employer, which is a good description of the deal the character has made.
