A team of people created by a secret government genetics programme protects the others like them from the agency that made them.
Sixty-six episodes across three seasons, syndicated, about “new mutants” who were engineered rather than born and are being hunted by the programme that engineered them. It ended abruptly on a cliffhanger in 2004 when its production company was dismantled, after a fourth season had already been announced.
Its interest to this catalogue is almost entirely legal.

It was made under a Marvel licence and, by its own article’s account, has no connection to the Mutant X comic it is named after.
In April 2001 Twentieth Century Fox sued Marvel and the production companies, arguing that it held the exclusive rights to develop the X-Men and that this show was too similar and was being sold as a replacement for them. Marvel countersued. Production was allowed to continue on the condition that no X-Men material be used to promote it.
Fox and Marvel settled confidentially in March 2003. The production company then sued Marvel, claiming it had been encouraged to connect the show to the X-Men, that the licence had been misrepresented, and that keeping the court-mandated distance had cost millions in rewritten characters and storylines. That settled in 2005.
Most of the unbound entries in this catalogue simply happen not to connect to anything. This one was ordered not to.
