An ageing private investigator in 1930s New York, who is also the only superhero anyone in that city has, works a case that keeps turning into his own past.
It is a period detective series with a hero in it rather than a superhero series set in the past, and the distinction shows in every scene. Nicolas Cage plays Ben Reilly, in his first leading television role, and the series is set in an alternate universe inside Sony’s Spider-Man Universe rather than alongside the other entries in it.
Eight episodes, released in May 2026 on MGM+ and Prime Video, and cancelled that September.
