A bodyguard with a sword made out of thought, recruited by a god and gone again before she has said very much.
Betsy Braddock appears in X-Men: Apocalypse as Caliban’s bodyguard, with psionic powers she projects as a sword. Apocalypse recruits her, gives her more power, and makes her Pestilence, one of the four Horsemen. When he is defeated she leaves, which is the whole of what the film gives her.
She is the best illustration of a problem with Apocalypse: it is full of people who exist to stand behind the villain, and it is not curious about any of them.
Show detailsPsylocke is three different people here
The films use the name for three separate characters. A character credited as Psylocke appears in The Last Stand, played by Meiling Melançon, is never called Psylocke on screen, teleports through shadows, belongs to the Omegas and is killed by the Phoenix. Betsy Braddock, played by Olivia Munn, is the one in Apocalypse. A third, played by Ayesha Hussain, appears in the Void in Deadpool & Wolverine as one of Cassandra Nova’s gang, wields a psionic whip and is killed by X-23.
This entry is the second of the three. The other two are not the same person and are not recorded as her appearances.
