A woman from Matt Murdock's past who reappears to pull him back towards the version of himself he keeps trying to talk down.
Elektra Natchios is described by her own series as a mysterious and dangerous woman from Murdock’s past, and the second season of Daredevil is largely about what she does to him. Doug Petrie called her “the best bad girlfriend you can possibly have”, and put it plainly: she is Matt’s id, the wild side he spends every other scene taming.
Élodie Yung’s reading of the character is worth quoting because it explains the performance. She thought Elektra was close to a sociopath, that the world is a game to her, and that she would use anything to get what she wants. But she also insisted on the layers: “I think Elektra isn’t a bad person. She’s not a good person. She’s a person with different traits.”
