A man is killing criminals in Hell's Kitchen faster than the courts can, and an old girlfriend arrives with a war of her own attached.
The season is two films stapled together and it mostly gets away with it. Frank Castle is introduced as an antagonist and then given the best argument in the show: he does not think Murdock is wrong, he thinks Murdock is squeamish. The courtroom sequence built around him is the strongest thing either season had done.
Elektra Natchios arrives from Murdock’s past with a mystical order attached, and that half of the season is where the series starts writing cheques for plots it will spend two years failing to cash.
