An arms dealer with a grudge older than the story, who turns out to be the reason Luke Cage went to prison in the first place.
Willis Stryker is a powerful arms dealer, Luke Cage’s half-brother, and the man who framed him for the crime that sent him to Seagate Prison. Erik LaRay Harvey plays him in the first season of Luke Cage, with Jared Kemp as the teenage Willis. The casting was never officially announced before the series came out, and Harvey agreed to do no publicity so as not to ruin the twist of Stryker being the season’s main villain.
Harvey chose not to read the comics, so as not to cloud his judgement, and relied on the showrunner Cheo Hodari Coker for the 2016 version of the man, including the half-brother backstory. Coker still brought as much of the comics’ Diamondback as he could, adapting the costume into armour that lets Stryker match Luke’s strength. The reader who sent this list said he was the first to truly get through Luke’s skin, which is what the armour is for.
Minor spoiler
