The previous film ended by removing him from the world’s memory. This one starts there: no Stark money, no Avengers on the phone, no friends who know what he does at night. It is the first time the character has been where the comics have always had him, which is alone and broke in New York.

It was released on 31 July 2026 and took over two billion dollars, which makes it one of the largest openings this catalogue records.
