A serial killer on death row who bites a journalist, gets a piece of what is inside him, and becomes considerably worse.
Cletus Kasady exists to be the version of Eddie Brock’s situation with none of the restraint. Woody Harrelson plays him large, and the second film is built as a straight comparison: two men sharing a body with something, one of whom is arguing with it constantly and one of whom is not arguing at all.
That comparison is the best idea in Sony’s run of these films, and it is also the only one that is really followed through.
