A brilliant scientist who tried to cure his own mutation and made it much more visible instead.
Hank McCoy is the character the Fox films use to ask whether a mutation is something to be treated. He is a scientist whose own mutation is mild enough to hide, so he builds a serum to suppress it, and it does the opposite: it makes him blue, large and unmistakable.
Nicholas Hoult plays the version that carries the arc, and Kelsey Grammer plays the older one in The Last Stand, arguing for mutant rights from inside a cabinet. Both are the same idea seen from two ends of a life.

Grammer plays a version of McCoy in The Marvels as well. The reference article records that as a different version of the character rather than a continuation of this one, so it is not listed here.
