Peter B. ParkerSpider-VerseUnbound

A Spider-Man who has been doing it for twenty-two years, is divorced, is not in good shape, and is the best mentor anyone in these films gets.

Peter B. Parker is a dishevelled, jaded thirty-eight year old Spider-Man from another dimension who becomes Miles’s reluctant mentor. Jake Johnson plays him, and the character is the film’s argument about what these stories are usually selling.

Every other Spider-Man on screen is at the good part. This one is fifteen years past it, has lost the marriage, and is still going out every night because that is what he does. He is the only one who can teach Miles anything, precisely because he has nothing left to be impressive about.

Wikipedia files his universe as Earth-616B, distinguishing him from the Peter Parker of Miles’s own reality, who dies at the start of the first film. The B is the films acknowledging that there are too many Peter Parkers to keep straight, which is also the joke.
