A former child star turned radio host, who wants to be the hero her adoptive sister refuses to be, and keeps mistaking that want for a right.
Patricia Walker, known to everyone as Trish, is a former model and child star who was famous as “Patsy” and now hosts a radio show. She is Jessica Jones’s adoptive sister and best friend, and for one season she is the warmest thing in a very cold series.
The show’s real subject is what happens to that warmth. Trish becomes envious of a sister who has powers and, in her view, wastes them. After Will Simpson’s death she starts using his combat enhancer inhaler so she does not have to feel powerless. When the inhaler stops working she goes to Karl Malus.

The third season turns Trish into the antagonist, and Jessica is the one who has to stop her. It is the most complete arc in the Netflix run, and it is the argument the whole series was making from the first episode: wanting to be a hero and being one are not the same appetite.
