The royal family of a hidden city on the Moon is overthrown by one of its own and scattered across Hawaii.
Black Bolt cannot speak without destroying what he speaks at, which is a strong idea, and the series is largely about his brother deciding that a monarchy based on a genetic lottery should not exist. The argument is better than the show around it.
It was received poorly and cancelled after eight episodes, and it is the entry in this catalogue that most clearly shows what happened when a film was demoted into a series.
Show detailsIt was a film first, and then a cinema release anyway
Marvel Studios announced an Inhumans film in 2014 as part of its Phase Three slate, then removed it. The species had already been introduced to this continuity through Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
What arrived instead had an unusual release: the first two episodes premiered in Los Angeles on 28 August 2017 and then played on 667 IMAX screens in 67 countries from 1 September, co-financed by IMAX, a month before the series began on television. The broadcast versions of those two episodes carry nine minutes the cinema cut did not.
This catalogue records the broadcast date, which is the one the reference infobox gives, and puts the earlier one here.
