Secret Invasion

Nick Fury comes back to Earth to find that a group of the refugees he promised to help have decided to take the planet instead.

The Skrulls can be anyone. Fury made them a promise thirty years ago that he did not keep, and a faction of them has run out of patience. The series is a conspiracy thriller in which the threat is that no conversation can be trusted, including the ones the audience has already watched.

It is also the closest the catalogue comes to a story about Fury himself: what he owes, to whom, and what happens to a man whose entire method is knowing more than the person opposite.
