Captain Marvel

A soldier fighting someone else's war finds out that almost nothing she has been told about herself is true.

The structure is unusual for this run: she begins the film already powerful and spends it recovering what was taken, which is memory rather than strength. The fights are not the point.

It is also a period piece, and the nineties setting lets it fill in decades of backstory for an organisation the earlier films took for granted.
