Ramonda is the character Wakanda Forever is actually about. She has lost T’Chaka and then T’Challa, she is running a country that everybody now knows is sitting on vibranium, and the film gives her the two scenes that carry it: the address to the United Nations, and the one where she tells Shuri that grief is not a plan.
Angela Bassett won an Academy Award for supporting actress for it, the first performance in these films to win one.
