Black Panther

A new king inherits a hidden country that has spent centuries deciding not to help anyone outside it, and meets the cousin that decision created.

The argument at the centre is about isolation and obligation, and the film gives its antagonist the better case. He is wrong about the method and right about the wound, and it does not pretend otherwise.

It is also the most self-contained entry of its phase: a whole country, its history and its politics, built in one film.
