Eddie Brock and the creature living in him are wanted by both of their species at once, and there is nowhere left that either of them belongs.
The third film closes the arrangement. Eddie is hunted by humans who want the symbiote and by symbiotes who want what Eddie has become, and the film strips away everything except the relationship the series was actually about all along.
Kelly Marcel wrote the first two and directs this one, which gives it a consistency the middle film did not need to have. It is the fifth film of Sony’s Spider-Man Universe and the last of the three about this pair.
